These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set forth the conditions for using the smartphone application “MaisonDeChat Row Counter” (the “App”) provided by MaisonDeChat (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using the App, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
1. About the App
The App is a row-counting application designed to support knitting, crochet, and other related crafting activities.
The App provides features including project creation and management, row counting, Sub Counters, completed project management, and storage of photos of completed works.
2. Conditions of Use
Users shall use the App in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
Users are responsible, at their own expense, for preparing and maintaining the smartphone, internet connection, Google Play environment, and any other environment necessary to use the App.
Certain features of the App may not be available depending on the device, operating system, region, network environment, or other conditions.
3. Accounts
The App does not require users to create or log in to a MaisonDeChat account.
Project information, counter information, settings, completed project information, and other data created by users are generally stored locally on the user’s device.
4. Data Stored on the Device
Data created or stored using the App is generally managed locally on the user’s device.
We do not guarantee the backup, restoration, or permanent preservation of data stored within the App.
Data stored in the App may be lost, corrupted, or become unavailable due to circumstances including, but not limited to:
- Uninstallation of the App
- Device failure, loss, or initialization
- Operating system updates or specification changes
- Updates to the App
- Storage failures
- User actions
- Other technical circumstances
Users are responsible for making any necessary backups or otherwise appropriately managing important information and photos.
5. Photo Features
The App may allow users to use the device camera or photo selection features for purposes such as recording completed works.
Users shall only use photos for which they have the necessary rights.
Users must not improperly use photos that infringe the copyrights, portrait rights, privacy rights, or other rights of third parties.
6. Advertising
The App may display advertisements using Google Mobile Ads or other third-party services.
The content, timing, method of display, and other aspects of advertisements may be determined by third-party advertising service providers.
The providers of advertised products, services, websites, or other content are responsible for such offerings, and we do not guarantee their content, quality, safety, accuracy, or other characteristics.

7. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in any of the following activities when using the App:
- Violating laws, regulations, or public order and morals
- Engaging in conduct related to criminal activity
- Infringing copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights belonging to us or third parties
- Infringing the privacy, reputation, or other rights or interests of us or third parties
- Interfering with the normal operation of the App
- Attempting unauthorized access to the App or related systems
- Improperly searching for or exploiting vulnerabilities in the App
- Improper modification, analysis, or other activities relating to the App beyond the extent permitted by applicable law
- Using the App in a manner that causes damage or disadvantage to third parties
- Any other conduct that we reasonably determine to be inappropriate
8. Intellectual Property Rights
Copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights relating to the App and its designs, text, logos, illustrations, and other content belong to us or to third parties who hold legitimate rights.

9. Changes, Suspension, or Termination of the App

We may also temporarily suspend or terminate all or part of the App in circumstances including, but not limited to:
- Maintenance, updates, or troubleshooting
- Changes to the specifications of operating systems or external services
- Suspension or modification of third-party services
- Compliance with laws, regulations, or platform policies
- Other circumstances in which we reasonably determine that continued provision of the App is difficult
Where reasonably possible, we may provide notice through a method we consider appropriate.
10. No Warranty
We do not warrant that the App will be suitable for any particular purpose, complete, accurate, continuously available, or produce any particular function or result.
Users should independently verify counter values, project information, and other information displayed by the App when necessary.
We also do not guarantee that the App will operate properly at all times on every device, operating system version, or usage environment.
11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
If a user suffers damage as a result of using or being unable to use the App, we shall not be liable except where we are legally responsible, including where such damage is caused by our intentional misconduct or negligence.
Where we are legally liable for damages, except in cases of our intentional misconduct or gross negligence or where limitation is otherwise prohibited by applicable law, our liability shall be limited to ordinary and direct damages.
This section applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Services and External Websites
The App may use third-party services such as Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), and Google Play, and may provide links to external websites.
Third-party services and external websites are provided subject to the terms of use, privacy policies, and other conditions established by their respective providers.
We do not guarantee the content, continued availability, safety, or other aspects of services or content provided by third parties.
13. Privacy
The handling of user information in connection with the App is governed by the separately established “MaisonDeChat Row Counter Privacy Policy.”
Users should review the Privacy Policy when using the App.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as necessary in response to changes to App functionality, applicable laws or platform policies, service content, or other relevant circumstances.
The revised Terms will be posted on the MaisonDeChat official website or another appropriate location.
If important changes are made, we may provide notice through the App, the official website, or another appropriate method as necessary.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
If any dispute arises in connection with the App or these Terms, the parties shall first make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute through consultation.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through consultation, jurisdiction shall be determined in accordance with applicable law.
